FX’s Dying For Sex worked with NYC Shibari to bring dimensional, authentic representation of a queer kinbaku session in a New York City play party. The queer, consent-fueled portrayals of power exchange in this episode provide essential character and narrative development. On screen are Zero-Gi as Shibari Rigger tying Justine Biticon as Sasha, alongside Molly (Michelle Williams), Nikki (Jenny Slate), and Sonya (Esco Jouléy).
Perfect x Emily Ratajkowski
Perfect magazine worked with NYC Shibari to design and tie this bespoke hishi diamond-patterned harness on Emily Ratajkowski for the Perfect Issue Two cover story and art film.
“When the credits rolled on our imaginary movie, it was time for solo shots. I joined the crew while Ratajkowski took control of the scene. Alone in a sea of red velvet, we watched her watch the empty screen just above our heads. Sitting in the audience, she remained a star.”

Blanc x Louis Vuitton
Contrasting subversive adult shibari styling against playful, nostalgic settings, Limited Attachment was inspired by the juxtaposition of avant-garde silhouettes against bright childlike graphics in Louis Vuitton’s Come Play with Me capsule by Nicolas Ghesquière and Sun Yitian.
NYC Shibari tied these editorial themes and looks together by juxtaposing asymmetrical bespoke harnesses with clean, intricate hishi diamond patterns.

Taking inspiration from butterflies and tarantulas, NYC Shibari Artists Sam Jay & Zero-Gi came to this magazine shoot armed with our silkiest custom 4mm Knot-Head Nylon ropes, which layered stunningly over stylist Sachiko’s sheer piece from The End Lingerie and cord-like silver earrings from Lizz Jardim.
